Welcome to Lyn McLachlan Lampshades

From a simple beginning in Chapel Street, Melbourne in the 1970's, Lyn McLachlan has developed a style and flair all of her own. Producing a range of hand made silk lampshades and ornamental pieces, Lyn's work is prized both for its uniqueness and its ability to provide a focal point for the decorations of your room.

All Lyn's pieces are hand-made and hand-sewn, and the fabrics and threads are hand dyed or, in the case of silk lampshades, hand painted. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Country Looks and Home Beautiful as well as numerous newspaper articles. These unique pieces have even become film stars, with some of Lyn's work appearing in the Jackie Chan movie, 'First Strike'.

From antique, period style shades through to contemporary creations which reflect your tastes and personality, Lyn's work is available in a number of designs and can be seen at a variety of stockists around the country. Each piece of work is unique and is created entirely by hand, from the framing to the final stitches.

If you have specific requirements, for a period renovation, a particular decorating scheme or just a special room in your house, Lyn is happy to discuss the options and designs that will help to create the perfect lampshade to suit your home.
